In the early 1990's, AXEO released one of the first healthcare practice management/EMR systems for Windows.  Features, functions, and look 'n feel in AXEO's product then, are now touted by systems delivered over 10-years later.  Microsoft even shipped a demo with their Access database management product.  After significant due diligence, the product was acquired by OptimalCare (a subsidiary of HealthSouth) in an all cash transaction.

Late in the 1990's, AXEO developed the first practice management system with an integrated basic EMR for Microsoft .Net and SQL.  Based on that market-leading product, AXEO in parts, was acquired for stock and cash by a larger HIT company that shortly thereafter went public late in the dot-com era. The acquirer did significant due diligence, had many alternative choices, made AXEO's system their flagship product, and featured the AXEO product and management participation in the road show with underwriters and in presentations to other acquisition targets. 

Ahead of its time then, AXEO has been gearing-up to do the same for electronic health record / electronic medical record (EHR/EMR). The next generation software for 2010, ARRA/HITECH and beyond.
